The Great Foreign Sell-Off: Over 500 Billion VND of Vietnam Stocks Sold by Foreigners

The net selling of foreign investors continues unabated.

The Vietnamese stock market witnessed a positive trading session, with green dominating the screens. The afternoon session saw a more overwhelming uptrend as large-cap stocks attracted strong cash flow. The VN-Index closed on July 3 with a gain of 7.06 points (+0.56%) to reach 1,276.85. Although liquidity on the HoSE improved compared to the previous session, it remained low, with a matching value of over VND 13,300 billion.

Foreign trading continued to be a downside, with net selling of nearly VND 530 billion in the entire market. This was also the 19th consecutive session of net selling by foreign investors in the Vietnamese stock market.

On the HoSE, foreign investors net sold over VND 536 billion

In the selling side, VRE shares were the focus of net selling by foreign investors with a value of VND 414 billion. Following were VHM and MWG, which were net sold strongly at VND 99 billion and VND 87 billion, respectively. In addition, HPG and DCM were also net sold in the range of VND 19 billion to VND 54 billion.

On the buying side, BID shares were the most net bought with VND 77 billion, followed by HDB and VPB, which were also net bought with more than VND 30 billion each.

On the HNX, foreign investors net bought VND 9 billion

In terms of net buying, PVS shares were the most net bought with a value of VND 25 billion. Additionally, NTP, TVC, and DHT were also among the top net bought stocks on the HNX, with a value of VND 1 billion each. Foreign investors also spent nearly VND 1 billion to net buy IDJ shares.

On the selling side, MBS and IDC faced net selling pressure from foreign investors with a value of VND 4 billion each, followed by DTD, SHS, and VGS, which were net sold in the range of VND 1 billion to VND 3 billion.

On the UPCOM, foreign investors net sold VND 2 billion

On the other hand, ACV shares were net sold by foreign investors for VND 29 billion. Additionally, foreign investors also net sold LTG, PHP, TTN…
