Unveiling the New Chairman of VPBank’s Portrait: Vu Huu Dien

On July 1st, VPBank Securities JSC (VPBankS) held a shareholder meeting to elect a new board member and appoint a new chairman.

Mr. Vu Huu Dien was elected to the board for the term 2022-2027, replacing Mr. Nguyen Duy Linh, who had previously submitted his resignation. The shareholders also dismissed Mr. Linh from his position as chairman and appointed Mr. Dien as the new chairman.

Mr. Vu Huu Dien

Mr. Dien (born in 1972) holds a Master’s degree in Information Systems from Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, Belgium, and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting from Ho Chi Minh City University of Finance and Accounting.

Mr. Dien is the Director of Portfolio Management at Dragon Capital. He joined Dragon Capital in 2000 as a senior analyst and later became the Director of Corporate Finance and co-investment director of 3 funds with a total AUM of over $1 billion.

Since 2010, he has been the Director of Portfolio Management and fund manager of Vietnam Enterprise Investments Limited (VEIL), Dragon Capital’s largest and oldest fund with AUM of $800 million.

Mr. Dien also represents other companies, including Sky Blue Education JSC, Novia JSC, and Indigo Holdings JSC. Sky Blue Education JSC, founded in July 2013, focuses on preschool education. Mr. Dien was an 80% founding shareholder, and his wife, Ms. Giang Khanh Tuyen, held 15%. As of December 2019, the company had a capital of VND64 billion, and Mr. Dien served as General Director and legal representative.

Indigo Holdings JSC is also engaged in preschool education and was established in April 2024 with a capital of approximately VND48 billion. Mr. Dien contributes 88.5% of the capital and serves as General Director and legal representative, while his wife holds 11.1%.

Novia JSC, founded in October 2017, specializes in hotels, tourist villas, tourist apartments, and homestays. With an initial capital of VND5 billion, Mr. Dien held 98% of the shares and served as Chairman and legal representative. In August 2018, the company increased its capital to VND10 billion.
