Speaking at the event, Permanent Secretary Luong Cuong stated that the Central Internal Affairs Commission has made significant contributions to the important achievements in various fields of the Party and the State.

Since the beginning of the XIII term, the Commission has closely coordinated with relevant agencies to provide consultations and guidance on addressing difficulties and obstacles. They have also promptly and strictly handled many serious and complex corruption and negative cases, following the instructions of the General Secretary, with “no restricted areas and no exceptions.”

Preventing Individuals Involved in Corruption and Negativity from Holding Leadership Positions

According to Permanent Secretary Luong Cuong, the Central Internal Affairs Commission has provided consultations on both principles and orientations for handling cases, as well as on coordination mechanisms. This ensures synchronization in the implementation of disciplinary actions by the Party, administrative disciplinary actions by state agencies, and disciplinary actions by mass organizations. The Commission has also advised on amending the functions and tasks of the Steering Committee to direct not only anti-corruption work but also anti-negativity work. The focus is on preventing the degeneration of political ideology, morality, and lifestyle among officials, party members, public employees, and employees of mass organizations.

Emphasizing that there is just a little over a year left in the XIII term of the Party, Permanent Secretary Luong Cuong requested the Central Internal Affairs Commission to make greater efforts and demonstrate stronger determination to fulfill the tasks related to internal affairs, anti-corruption, anti-negativity, and judicial reform.

The Commission is tasked with continuing to provide good consultations on anti-corruption and anti-negativity efforts, in conjunction with the effective implementation of Regulation 144 issued by the Politburo on moral standards for officials and party members in the new period. They are also responsible for providing consultations on the strict handling of corruption and negativity cases involving officials and party members, contributing to the personnel work for party congresses at all levels. This is in line with the General Secretary’s instruction to “resolutely prevent individuals who have made mistakes, are involved in corruption and negativity, or cover up crimes from holding leadership positions, which would affect the Party’s reputation.”

Strict Handling of Violations Related to Major Cases

The Permanent Secretary suggested that the Commission focus on providing consultations and guidance to overcome difficulties and obstacles, accelerating the investigation and strict handling of corruption and negativity cases according to plans.

“The Central Internal Affairs Commission should focus on providing consultations and guidance for inspections, audits, investigations, and strict handling of violations related to cases at AIC Company, FLC Corporation, Van Thinh Phat, Saigon Dai Ninh Project (Lam Dong), Phuc Son Corporation, and Thuan An Corporation,” Mr. Luong Cuong emphasized. “This also includes cases involving leading officials and managers at all levels, thereby contributing to the preparation of personnel for party congresses at all levels and the XIV Party Congress.”

According to the Permanent Secretary, the Central Internal Affairs Commission needs to proactively coordinate with relevant agencies to grasp the situation and provide consultations and guidance to promptly address complex and emerging issues related to national security, social order, and safety. This includes border security, security in ethnic minority areas, religious security, rural security, and countering activities of hostile forces, reactionary elements, and dangerous types of crimes. They should also address prolonged and complex issues involving large numbers of people, preventing the occurrence of “hot spots” and ensuring a proactive and responsive approach.
