The Greenback Takes a Tumble: USD Exchange Rates Plummet on July 26th Morning

The commercial bank exchange rate for USD witnessed a significant drop on July 26, while the value of the Chinese yuan continued its upward trajectory.

Specifically, the State Bank of Vietnam announced that the central exchange rate of the Vietnamese Dong (VND) against the US Dollar (USD) was 24,249 VND/USD, a significant decrease of 16 VND compared to the previous day. With a +/- 5% fluctuation band, today’s ceiling and floor rates are 25,461 VND/USD and 23,037 VND/USD, respectively.

The reference exchange rate at the State Bank of Vietnam remains unchanged at 23,400 – 25,450 VND/USD (buying – selling).

At commercial banks, as of 8:18 am, Vietcombank and BIDV simultaneously decreased their buying rate by 57 VND and their selling rate by 17 VND compared to the previous day, to 25,121 – 25,461 VND/USD (buying – selling).

Meanwhile, the rate of CNY at the two banks continued its upward trend.
