MB Ageas Life announces the appointment of a new Chairman of the Members’ Council, Mr. Vu Hong Phu, as the company celebrates its 8th anniversary. This move is aimed at strengthening the company’s leadership and propelling its growth trajectory with a focus on innovation to become a leading insurance company.
Born in 1983, Mr. Vu Hong Phu holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Banking from ESCP EUROPE, Paris Dauphine University. With almost two decades of experience in economics, finance, and banking, he is a young yet seasoned leader. He has held various senior management and executive positions in several enterprises, including notable roles at the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB) as Head of the Capital and Monetary Business Division, Secretary of the Board of Directors, and Member of the Executive Committee.
Mr. Phu joined MB Ageas Life in 2016 as a Member of the Members’ Council, Chairman of the Executive Committee, and Vice President. From May 2017 onwards, he took on additional crucial roles within the company, including Vice Chairman of the Members’ Council, President, Chairman of the Executive Committee, and Vice President. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, MB Ageas Life thrived under his leadership, achieving remarkable business growth, enhanced brand reputation, and increased market trustworthiness in the Vietnamese life insurance market.
Mr. Vu Hong Phu’s strategic vision and effective management solutions have been recognized through numerous prestigious awards. These include a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Finance for his contributions to the development of the Vietnamese insurance market from 2016 to 2020, the Outstanding Insurance Enterprise Manager Award in 2020 and 2019, and the title of Typical Manager of Vietnam – ASEAN 2020. He has also received multiple accolades from MB, such as Outstanding Management Official in the first period of 2020, Labor Hero in 2019, Outstanding Party Member in 2019, Typical Manager in 2018, and Outstanding Achievement Awards in the “Quyet Thang” Emulation Campaign from 2014 to 2019.

Regarding his aspirations and goals for MB Ageas Life, Mr. Vu Hong Phu shared: “When MB Ageas Life was established on July 21, 2016, it was the newest life insurance company in the Vietnamese market.
