According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, on the golden route between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the highest ticket price (excluding taxes and fees) offered by Vietnam Airlines in the first half of August was approximately VND 2.2 million one-way, equivalent to 65% of the maximum price. On other days and departure times, the prices are significantly lower, with the lowest being Vietravel Airlines’ price of VND 750,000 one-way, or 26% of the maximum price.

For the Hanoi – Danang route, the highest price in the first few days of August was about VND 1.6 million one-way, which is 56% of the maximum price. For departures on later dates, the prices of all airlines decrease considerably, with many days offering prices at around 25% of the maximum price. Vietravel Airline, in particular, offers a series of tickets priced at just under VND 300,000 one-way, or 12% of the maximum price (for departures after 5 pm from August 5 to 13).

Another domestic route, Hanoi – Cam Ranh (Nha Trang) operated by Vietnam Airlines, had its highest ticket price on August 3, reaching nearly VND 2.5 million one-way (72% of the maximum price). For this route, Vietjet Air offers the lowest average price at just 25% of the maximum price.

Airfare cools down in the first half of August.

The Hanoi – Da Lat route has maintained stability for most days, with ticket prices fluctuating between 30-40% of the maximum price.

For the longest domestic tourism route, Hanoi – Phu Quoc, there are currently two operating airlines: Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air. The highest recorded price for Vietnam Airlines is VND 3.05 million, equivalent to 76% of the maximum price. For other departure dates, the airlines offer tickets at 30-50% of the maximum price.

Notably, for early or late departure times on later dates, Vietnam Airline offers prices starting from 27% of the maximum price (August 13-14), while Vietjet Air offers prices from 20% of the maximum price for August 6-15.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, some localities and travel companies have implemented accommodation support programs for passengers choosing to fly during late-night hours. This not only provides passengers with more options and helps reduce travel costs but also contributes to reducing transportation pressure for airlines during daytime hours.

It is inevitable that ticket prices fluctuate, with higher prices for bookings made close to the departure date and lower prices for bookings made well in advance. This trend can occur at any time of the year.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam advises passengers to plan their trips and book tickets in advance through official channels to secure the most suitable prices. Passengers are also encouraged to consider traveling during early morning or late-night/red-eye hours to take advantage of the airlines’ current promotional rates.
