In July 2024, many departments and sectors, with the participation of businesses and retailers, continued to promote consumption stimulus in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the same time, production and business units also focused on deep discounts while ensuring quality and diverse designs in their product groups, attracting consumers to participate in shopping.

In reality, most retailers in the city are taking turns offering promotions and applying deep discounts to a wide range of essential consumer goods.

Typically, from now until July 31, the Saigon Co.op Union of Trading Cooperatives is offering a 50% discount on the prices of essential fresh produce for daily meals, including vegetables, meat, seafood, and fruit, as part of the “Home-cooked Meals, Overflowing Flavors” program.

Following this activity, in preparation for August 2024, Saigon Co.op also announced the “Tropical Vegetable Festival,” offering a diverse range of produce such as bitter melon, winter melon, green mustard leaves, sweet mustard greens, cucumbers, bean sprouts, bitter melon, water spinach, and bean sprouts at discounts ranging from 20% to 50%.

Previously, on July 27, Saigon Co.op also simultaneously opened six Co.op Smile convenience stores, bringing the total number of Co.op Smile stores to 108, providing 1,500 to 2,000 familiar and everyday products for middle-aged and elderly customers, housewives, and young shoppers who prefer quick shopping.

Similarly, shopping centers, supermarket systems, and convenience store chains in Ho Chi Minh City, such as Satramart, satrafood, Bach Hoa Xanh, MM Mega Market, and LOTTE Mart, have also launched a variety of promotional programs for customers.

Some retailers are offering deep discounts of up to 50% and buy-one-get-one deals on fresh and processed food products, as well as fruits and vegetables.

Currently, the vibrant 2024 Shopping Season promotion program is taking place in Ho Chi Minh City, with the first phase combining with the city’s tourism stimulus program.

The 2024 Shopping Season promotion program is still divided into two phases and will last until the end of the year, but it has expanded to include more commodity groups and neighboring localities, aiming to establish the city as a modern shopping center and contribute to the development of production and business.

Through this program, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade will accompany the city’s business community in gradually forming an annual shopping season, attracting the participation of consumers, tourists, and production and business entities.

Ho Chi Minh City’s leaders expect the close linkage between departments and sectors and the active participation of businesses will help the city’s trade and service industries grow strongly, contributing to the overall economic growth in the last months of the year.
