According to the General Department of Taxation, the total number of retail invoices issued as of the present is 171,629,092.
The requirement for gasoline and oil companies to issue electronic invoices for each sale is specifically stipulated in the Law on Tax Administration No. 38/2019/QH14, Decree No. 123/2020/ND-CP, and Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP of the Government.
In the past, the Government and the Prime Minister have continuously directed the Ministry of Finance and related agencies to promote the implementation of invoice issuance for each gasoline and oil sale. The Prime Minister has requested to revoke the business licenses of enterprises that do not comply with this requirement.
The tax authorities emphasized that the creation of electronic invoices is automated through software, and the issued invoices are fully stored electronically at gasoline and oil outlets, ensuring traceability when requested by competent authorities.
