Unlocking Revenue Growth: FPT Retail’s Impressive 22% Hike in 2024’s First Half-Year Performance

Wrapping up the first half of 2024, FPT Retail recorded a consolidated revenue of VND 18,281 billion, a 22% increase compared to the same period last year, completing 49% of the plan. Online revenue for the entire company reached VND 3,213 billion, a 17% increase year-on-year. FRT’s pre-tax profit in the first 6 months of 2024 continued to improve, reaching VND 161 billion.

The FPT Long Chau pharmacy chain recorded a 67% growth in revenue compared to the first 6 months of 2023, achieving VND 11,521 billion and accounting for 63% of FRT’s total revenue. At the same time, operational efficiency was maintained with an average revenue of VND 1.2 billion per pharmacy per month, despite the continuous opening of new pharmacies.

In the first 6 months of 2024, FPT Shop’s revenue reached VND 6,923 billion, contributing 37% to the company’s total revenue. In Q2/2024, FPT Shop completed the optimization of its system by closing about 100 underperforming stores and recognizing all closure costs in Q2. However, Q2/2024 revenue decreased by only 7% year-on-year, lower than the 21% decline in Q1/2024 compared to the same period last year. Simultaneously, the average revenue per FPT Shop store reached VND 1.6 billion per month, equivalent to Q1/2024, despite Q2 being a low season for shopping demand. In parallel with optimizing the store system and operating costs, FPT Shop continued to boost the sales of new products and services such as home appliances, electrical appliances, and the development of FPT MVNO subscriptions… contributing to improved gross profit. Therefore, excluding the costs of closing underperforming stores, FPT Shop’s business results in Q2 were better than in Q1/2024.

In terms of store network, by the end of the first 6 months of 2024, FPT Retail owned a network of 2,435 stores nationwide. FPT Long Chau expanded to 1,706 pharmacies, an increase of 209 pharmacies compared to the beginning of 2024. In Q2, Long Chau expanded its vaccine injection network with 36 new facilities, reaching 87 centers in 40 provinces, contributing to the goal of building a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem for customers. After the system optimization phase, FPT Shop now has 642 stores across the country.

Highlighting FPT Retail’s notable activities in the first half of the year, the company continued to extend its embrace of love with the program “Long Chau se chia – Dong hanh cung chien binh nhi” (“Long Chau Shares – Accompanying Little Warriors”) and the journey for the community’s health. Long Chau is ready to be the “Extended Arm” of Vietnam’s healthcare sector, proactively collaborating with various sectors, associations, etc., to dedicatedly care for the community’s health through activities such as joining the global project “May Measure Month” – MMM 2024 and participating in the “6th Hypertension Conference” organized by the Vietnam Hypertension Association – Vietnam Cardiovascular Association (VNHA). In addition, FPT Long Chau strategically partnered with Omron to introduce next-generation blood pressure products and collaborated with AstraZeneca to bring advanced therapies to enhance the quality of life for millions of COPD patients in Vietnam.

In the first half of the year, FPT Shop also became a major partner with brands in developing their brands. As a result, FPT Shop became the number one partner in terms of Garmin Brand Store outlets. By leveraging the FPT ecosystem and VnExpress Marathon, along with local groups, FPT Shop has helped Garmin develop its brand through leading sports events in Vietnam. Simultaneously, the system has also promoted the development of MVNO SIM card services, offering customers new and convenient experiences.
