The 13th Vietnam Outstanding Banking Awards (VOBA) Forum and Awards 2024, organized by International Data Group (IDG) in collaboration with various units, recognized Agribank in three significant categories. The awards’ judging panel included representatives from regulatory bodies, financial and banking experts, and information technology specialists. Over the years, the awards have established a prestigious position in the banking industry, helping banks reflect on and improve their business quality and efficiency.
This year, the organizers and the judging panel agreed to assess the quality of banking/fintech services through a survey. Agribank was acknowledged and honored in the following three categories:
Agribank – Outstanding Bank in Supporting High-Tech Agricultural Investment
Representing Agribank, Mr. Pham Gia Khuong, Deputy Head of the Southern Regional Branch Office (on the left), received the title of “Outstanding Bank in Supporting High-Tech Agricultural Investment” for 2024.
The application of science and technology in all stages of agricultural production, from research and breeding to cultivation techniques, has created new value for agricultural products. It ensures freshness and safety, increases yield, and meets quality standards. High-tech agriculture contributes to the transformation of agricultural production structures, adapting to the strengths of each locality, region, and the whole country, while also catering to domestic and international market demands and climate change adaptation.
Investing in high-tech agriculture, as directed by the government, has always been a crucial objective in Agribank’s business strategy. Agribank continuously strives to improve processes, apply technology, and reduce project evaluation time for loan applications. They also work to minimize costs to expand credit investment, providing customers with quick access to loans, while actively promoting green banking policies and committing to ESG standards integration into their business strategy to contribute to greening the banking sector, environmental protection, and community support. Agribank has implemented a VND 50,000 billion credit package to encourage the development of high-tech and clean agriculture, as directed by the State Bank of Vietnam, and is the commercial bank with the highest lending commitment among participating banks.
In addition, Agribank offers various preferential programs to encourage customers to borrow under the high-tech and clean agriculture development program, such as free money transfers within the system and a 50% reduction in fees for transfers outside the system, as per Agribank’s current regulations.

Agribank received the title of “Outstanding Retail Bank” for 2024
With its extensive network of ATMs, CDMs, and mobile transaction points reaching remote and rural areas, Agribank aims to provide payment services to a large number of customers, particularly those in the agricultural and rural sectors. Embracing the digital transformation strategy, Agribank focuses on simplifying transaction procedures and shifting towards digitization and automation in payment operations. Additionally, they collaborate with the Farmers’ Union, the Women’s Union, and the Cooperative Alliance to raise awareness and promote financial literacy among rural customers regarding banking products, retail banking services, and the benefits of electronic payments when transacting on e-commerce platforms…
To develop retail banking services based on technology, Agribank has concentrated on diversifying payment products and channels, offering multi-utility services on digital platforms, and integrating modern payment technologies in interbank, bilateral, and electronic compensation payments through the centralized payment system, card system, and automated banking system. Agribank continuously researches and develops new products and services, enhances service quality and convenience, and reduces customer costs by collaborating with corporations, total solution providers, fintech companies, payment intermediaries, and e-commerce platforms to build a closed-loop payment ecosystem that ensures safety, speed, and customer data security for e-commerce transactions.
