According to a survey by our reporters, a dealership in Central Vietnam recently offered a significant discount of up to 95 million VND on the Suzuki Ciaz, a sedan in the B-segment, to clear inventory.

After the discount, the actual selling price of the Suzuki Ciaz is now only 440 million VND. This price is on par with the lower-end models of its competitors in the same segment, such as the Hyundai Accent 1.5 MT (439 million VND) and the Toyota Vios 1.5E MT (458 million VND). However, the dealership also noted that this offer is only valid for vehicles manufactured in 2022 and is limited to the brown color option.

For vehicles manufactured in 2023, the discount is slightly lower, at approximately 80 million VND, bringing the actual price at the dealership to 455 million VND.

The Suzuki Ciaz has been available in Vietnam since 2016, but its sales performance has been modest, with only eight units sold in the first half of 2024.

One of the reasons for the Suzuki Ciaz’s lack of popularity among Vietnamese consumers is the limited choice, as it is only offered in one version, and its price is not very competitive (535 million VND). Additionally, it faces strong competition from well-established rivals such as the Hyundai Accent, Toyota Vios, and Honda City.

While the Suzuki Ciaz may not be highly regarded for its exterior design, it offers a spacious interior that leads the segment, along with notable features such as leather seats, Wi-Fi connectivity, voice control, lane departure warning, forward-collision warning, and more.

Under the hood, the Suzuki Ciaz is powered by a 1.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 91 horsepower and 130 Nm of torque. The power is delivered to the front wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.

Currently, the Suzuki Ciaz B-segment sedan is no longer listed on the website of Suzuki Vietnam, raising concerns about its continued distribution in the Vietnamese market. These concerns are further reinforced by the upcoming closure of the Suzuki factory in Thailand, where the Ciaz sold in Vietnam is sourced from.
