Leading the current uptrend was the real estate sector, which saw a strong recovery of 1.42% with green dominating most stocks. Specifically, DIG rose 4.1%, VHM gained 1%, PDR climbed 4.83%, and NVL increased by 4.02%… Notably, DXG was the only stock to turn purple from the market’s opening.
From a technical perspective, DXG‘s share price surged in the August 16, 2024, session, forming a White Marubozu candlestick pattern accompanied by high volume, surpassing the 20-session average. This indicates a resurgence in active trading among investors. Additionally, the price broke through the mid-term downward trendline and rose above the Middle Bollinger Band, while MACD and Stochastic Oscillator continued their upward trajectory, providing further buy signals and reinforcing the recovery scenario for the coming period.

Following the real estate sector was the financial group, which also displayed a positive performance. This included bank stocks such as HDB, MBB, TCB, and ACB, which rose between 0.19% and 1.06%. Additionally, securities stocks like SSI, VIX, FTS, and HCM witnessed minimum gains of 3%.
The market breadth inclined towards the buy-side, with over 490 stocks advancing, outpacing around 130 declining ones. The VN-Index rose over 18 points to 1,241 at 10:30 am, while the HNX-Index gained 1.51%, hovering around 231, and the UPCoM-Index climbed 0.75%.Â

At the start of the August 16 session, by 9:30 am, the VN-Index had surged nearly 5 points to around 1,228, while the HNX-Index also climbed slightly by 0.79 points, trading near 229.
The energy group continued its strong recovery from the previous session, with BSR up 0.44%, PVD gaining 0.38%, and PVB rising 1.11%…
The real estate sector also contributed to the market’s positive sentiment, with most stocks in the sector advancing. Specifically, VHM rose 0.66%, DIG climbed 0.9%, VRE increased by 0.84%, CEO gained 1.45%, DXG rose 1.14%, and NVL climbed 0.89%…
In addition to these two groups, many Large Cap stocks also witnessed positive momentum. FPT, MBB, VCB, and HDB provided further support to the indices.
