On August 16, social media was abuzz with photos of Dang Le Nguyen Vu’s car collection, which had been decked out with fresh decals in preparation for the upcoming Gumball 3000 event in Ho Chi Minh City next month. So far, his one-of-a-kind Bugatti Veyron and five Ferraris have been spotted with new exterior decorations, confirming their presence at the much-anticipated event.

The appearance of Dang Le Nguyen Vu’s Bugatti Veyron, the only one of its kind in Vietnam, at Gumball 3000 has car enthusiasts in the country thrilled. This rare hypercar is rarely seen in public. The last time it was spotted at an event was in March 2021 in Buon Ma Thuot, where it sported a white exterior instead of the current black and white two-tone color scheme.

Another photo reveals that the Bugatti Veyron has been fitted with a brand-new set of wheels, replacing the original chrome multi-spoke rims. The new wheels are likely the PUR RS36 model, as evidenced by a similar Bugatti Veyron 16.4 (in black) sporting the same rims in the photo.

As for the Ferraris, the 599 GTB is one of the models Vu has chosen to bring to one of the world’s biggest supercar rallies. This particular car was owned by a Ho Chi Minh City-based enthusiast until around mid-2023, when it was acquired by Vu. It is powered by a 6.0L V12 engine that produces 612 horsepower and 608 Nm of torque.

The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, another V12-powered supercar, will also be joining the Gumball 3000 event. This is the only F12 in Vietnam that retains its original white exterior. It was previously owned by Phan Thanh, a well-known car enthusiast.

The side of the F12 features decals bearing the names of sponsors and the rally itself. Typically, cars participating in Gumball 3000 are numbered and have the event logo on the hood, but as Vu’s cars do not yet have these, it is possible that they are only being displayed and not actually taking part in the rally.

The first Ferrari 458 Spider to arrive in Vietnam will also be making an appearance at Gumball 3000 in September. It is powered by a 4.5L naturally aspirated V8 engine that produces 562 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque.

The Ferrari 488 GTB, a descendant of the 458, will also be part of Vu’s lineup for the event. It is equipped with a 3.9L twin-turbocharged V8 engine that generates 661 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque.

Rounding out the collection is the Ferrari F8 Spider in white with a black soft top, also ready for Gumball with its fresh decals. As the successor to the aforementioned 488, the F8 Spider is powered by a 3.9L V8 engine with modified components, resulting in an impressive 710 horsepower and 770 Nm of torque.
