Vietnamese stocks witnessed a positive start to the week on August 19, with the VN-Index trading in the green throughout the session. At the close, the VN-Index gained 9.39 points to reach 1,261.62 points. Foreign investors continued their net selling trend, offloading nearly VND309 billion across the market.

Brokerage self-trading recorded a net sell of VND24 billion across the market.

On the HoSE, brokerage self-trading recorded a net buy of nearly VND16 billion, including a net buy of VND29 billion on the matching order channel and a net sell of VND13 billion on the negotiated deal channel.

Specifically, VPB and VHM were the top stocks bought by brokerages, with approximately VND20 billion each. Additionally, stocks like VIB, MSN, DPM, and VIC were also net bought during the August 19 session.

On the other hand, PNJ and VNM were the top stocks sold by brokerages, with net sells of VND51 billion and VND38 billion, respectively. MBB also witnessed a net sell of VND16 billion. Other stocks that were net sold during this session included APH, GAS, and TCB.

On the HNX, brokerage self-trading recorded a net sell of VND32 billion, with PVI being the most sold stock at VND20 billion. PVS and VCS were also net sold at VND8 billion and VND4 billion, respectively.

On the UPCoM, brokerage self-trading recorded a net sell of nearly VND8 billion, with ACV being the most sold stock at nearly VND10 billion. MCH was also net sold at over VND3 billion. In contrast, BSR and APH were net bought at nearly VND4 billion and VND1 billion, respectively.
