The National Assembly has approved the resolution to appoint Secretary of Khanh Hoa Province, Nguyen Hai Ninh, as the Minister of Justice, and Secretary of Yen Bai Province, Do Duc Duy, as the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.

On August 26, during an extraordinary session of the National Assembly, with the majority of the deputies voting in favor, the National Assembly passed a resolution approving the proposal of the Prime Minister to appoint Mr. Do Duc Duy and Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh as Ministers of Natural Resources and Environment and Justice, respectively, for the term 2021-2026.

Nguyen Hai Ninh, 48, from Khoai Chau district, Hung Yen province, holds a Doctorate in Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Administration. He is a member of the 12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (alternate) and a member of the 13th Committee.

Prior to 2006, Mr. Ninh served as Deputy Director of the Legal Affairs Department of the Central Internal Affairs Commission. He then became Deputy Director of the Legal and Judicial Reform Department of the Party Central Committee’s Office. He later held the position of Director and Secretary to the Chief of the Party Central Committee’s Office before being appointed Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dak Lak province.

In March 2019, he returned to the Central level as Deputy Chief of the Party Central Committee’s Office. From April 2021 to the present, he has served as Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee.

Do Duc Duy, 54, a native of Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province, holds a Master’s degree in Construction Engineering. He is a member of the 13th Central Committee and a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.

Mr. Duy previously worked as a structural design engineer and lecturer at the Hanoi University of Architecture. He then moved to the Ministry of Construction, where he served as a specialist, Deputy Director of the Organization and Personnel Department, Chief of Staff of the Ministry, and Vice Minister of Construction from 2015 to 2017.

From 2017 to 2020, he was Chairman of the Yen Bai Provincial People’s Committee, and from 2020 to the present, he has served as Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee.
