**Mekong Urban Tourism Project: A Visionary Development in Vietnam**

We are thrilled to introduce the Mekong Urban Tourism and Resort Project in Chau Thanh District, Hau Giang Province, Vietnam. With a total investment of up to $6.2 billion, this ambitious project is set to transform the region and offer a unique blend of tourism, entertainment, and sustainable development.

According to the Hau Giang Provincial People’s Committee, on August 22, the People’s Committee held a working session with Vingroup regarding the Mekong Urban Tourism and Resort project. This project is a testament to the province’s commitment to preserving and sustainably developing the local economy, culture, and society, while also creating a harmonious urban area that showcases the distinctive landscape of the Mekong Delta.

The project encompasses several key components, including a water park, an extreme entertainment park, a walking street with culinary delights and a floating market, a Mekong village-museum, a 36-hole golf course, a health care and retirement center, an art university, and a garden area combined with an orchard. The infrastructure will be developed synchronously, with a high level of regional connectivity, adhering to sustainable design principles and energy conservation.

Spanning approximately 2,945 hectares, the Mekong Urban Tourism and Resort Project is expected to serve a population of 300,000 people and accommodate 10,000 tourists daily. During the working session, Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang, CEO of Vingroup, shared his vision for the project, highlighting its potential to enhance the image of Hau Giang Province and attract further investment to the region.

Hau Giang Province has taken proactive steps by formulating a detailed implementation plan, assigning tasks and responsibilities to relevant agencies, and setting a clear timeline for completion. The province is committed to reducing the time required for task execution to two-thirds of the maximum regulated time for tasks with specified maximum time limits, while adhering to the minimum time requirements for tasks with minimum time regulations.

Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh, Member of the Central Committee, and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Hau Giang, emphasized the significance of this project in fostering robust economic development in the province and realizing the goal of transforming Chau Thanh into a center of industry and urbanization.

The leadership of Hau Giang Province commended Vingroup for its professionalism and commitment to expediting the project. Embracing the philosophy of “When businesses come, Hau Giang rejoices,” the province, along with its departments, sectors, and localities, will continue to facilitate and closely coordinate with Vingroup to ensure smooth progress. The Provincial People’s Committee looks forward to Vingroup’s continued partnership and collaboration in bringing this project to fruition.

Mr. Thanh instructed the departments, sectors, and localities to continue creating favorable conditions and coordinating closely with Vingroup to ensure their access to the Mekong Urban Tourism and Resort Project, in compliance with legal regulations, and aiming for official project implementation by 2027.

Another Leading Company Joins the Race for the $6 Billion Project

In addition to Vingroup’s interest, another prominent company, the Total Corporation for Investment Development and Construction (DIG), has also expressed its desire to invest in the Mekong Urban Tourism and Resort Project. During a working session with the Hau Giang Provincial People’s Committee in July, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, acknowledged the province’s golden opportunity for exceptional development, attributed to favorable factors such as the advantageous location and the presence of high-speed roads.

In reality, the Mekong Urban Tourism and Resort Project has been approved and is included in the master plan for Hau Giang Province for the period of 2021–2030, with a vision toward 2050.
