The Final Puzzle Piece in Viettel’s IT Ecosystem

Recognizing the growing trend of software development and IT outsourcing globally, Viettel’s leadership decided to spin off the Viettel Software Service IT Center (under Viettel Commerce) to establish an independent company – Viettel Technology Investment Company (Viettel Software).

As a result, Mr. Bui Trinh has been entrusted by the Group to lead Viettel Software during its challenging initial stage. Viettel’s leadership expects that the establishment of Viettel Software will contribute to the completion of the Group’s digital technology ecosystem, aligning with its grand mission of “Pioneering and taking the lead in shaping Vietnam’s digital society.” August 30, 2023, was chosen as Viettel Software’s Traditional Day, marking a significant turning point in the race among technology companies, especially in software outsourcing.

Strategic Vision for Outstanding Success

The first year is always a challenging period, especially in a highly competitive industry like Information Technology (IT). On the first Traditional Day anniversary, Mr. Bui Trinh, Director of Viettel Software, shared: “Although Viettel Software is a new name, we are confident in Viettel’s extensive experience in software development, with diverse projects ranging from managing and operating telecommunications networks to enterprise management and e-wallets.”

Viettel Software has a clear strategy for each phase. In the last four months of 2023, the company finalized its organizational model, assessed and improved its human resources, and enhanced production indicators. By the first quarter of 2024, Viettel Software focused on developing tailored application products for specific customer needs, such as OCR, eKYC, SMOS, and Automation Test. The second quarter of 2024 was a period of intensified exploration of international markets, receiving positive responses from Australia, Singapore, Japan, and South Korea.

Carrying the vision of “Creating for People,” Viettel Software believes that people are its most valuable asset, and the company’s success is intertwined with the development of each individual within it. Viettel Software aims to be among the top 5 software outsourcing companies in Vietnam by 2030. “Building a high-quality workforce is crucial to realizing our goals and vision. We are committed to continuously training, enhancing the skills and knowledge of our employees, and attracting top talents in the field of information technology,” affirmed Mr. Bui Trinh.

As proof of this commitment, Mr. Bui Trinh added that Viettel Software successfully passed rigorous rounds of resume reviews and interviews to upgrade its CMMI Dev certification from level 3 to level 5 – the highest level. CMMI level 5 is considered a mandatory standard for a technology company to achieve international standards.

Despite its youth, Viettel Software has attracted the attention of many large clients and has been honored to receive “orders” for developing specialized software for industries such as aviation, insurance, and finance. Notably, revenue in the first seven months increased by 40.5% compared to the same period last year. The team size grew from 1,000 (September 2023) to over 1,500. These are telling numbers that testify to the relentless efforts of all Viettel Software employees on their journey to conquer the global market.

Just one year on, Viettel Software is steadily establishing its position in the domestic and international technology landscape. The strong development over the past year not only demonstrates the company’s capabilities and reputation but also serves as a driving force for Viettel Software to continue striving for new heights, delivering sustainable value to customers and partners worldwide.
