Ms. Nguyen Thu Phuong from Hanoi shared that her family had initially planned to fly to Hue for the holiday but decided to take the train when they saw that airfares for a family of four would cost nearly 20 million VND.

“With air tickets being so expensive, we opted for the train, which is half the price. We wanted to experience traveling by train from the North to the South and enjoy the scenery during the National Day holiday. Fortunately, we booked ten days in advance, so we were able to secure tickets for the whole family,” said Phuong.

Many North-South trains departing during the holiday are painted with red and yellow stars at the front.

Previously, on just one day, the railway sector operated ten trains on the North-South route, including five Thong Nhat trains from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, one from Hanoi to Danang, two from Hanoi to Dong Hoi, and two from Hanoi to Vinh.

Tickets for both short trips to Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, and Vinh, as well as longer journeys to Dong Hoi, Dong Ha, Hue, and Danang, were sold out.

Ms. Le Thu Thuy from Hanoi shared that she and a group of friends chose to travel by train from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City for the National Day holiday. “We wanted to experience traveling on the Thong Nhat train from the North to the South during this special holiday. I was surprised by the impressive atmosphere, with red and gold flags decorating the stations and the trains, creating a unique feeling,” said Thuy.

Additionally, the company arranged for guards at level crossings to ensure safety.

At stations with high passenger traffic, member companies also deployed additional forces to inspect before, during, and after the holiday to ensure the safety of passengers.
