“Free Transport of Relief Goods to the North by Rail and Air”

From September 11th, the railway sector and domestic airlines will offer free transportation for relief goods to those affected by Storm No. 3.

On September 11, Vietnam Railways announced that it would offer free transportation for relief goods from southern provinces to the North to support people affected by Storm No. 3 – Yagi.

“Vietnam Railways provides free transportation of relief goods for people in Yagi-affected localities. Organizations and individuals can send their donations through the provincial People’s Committees, Fatherland Front Committees, and Red Cross Societies,” said a representative from Vietnam Railways.

From September 11, the railway sector will provide free transportation of relief goods for people in provinces and cities affected by Storm Yagi.

According to Vietnam Railways, the sending stations include: Saigon Station (No. 1 Nguyen Thong, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City); Song Than Station (An Binh Ward, Di An City, Binh Duong Province); Nha Trang Station (No. 17 Thai Nguyen Street, Nha Trang City); Danang Station (No. 791 Hai Phong Street, Danang City); Hue Station (No. 2 Bui Thi Xuan, Hue City); Dong Hoi Station (Ward 4, Nam Ly Ward, Dong Hoi City); Vinh Station (No. 1 Le Ninh Street, Vinh City); and Thanh Hoa Station (No. 19 Duong Dinh Nghe Street, Thanh Hoa City).

The receiving stations are Giap Bat Station (No. 366 Giai Phong Street, Hanoi) and Hanoi Station (No. 1 Tran Quy Cap, Hanoi). The free transportation service started on September 11, 2024.

Earlier, on the evening of September 10, Vietnam Airlines announced that it would receive and transport relief goods free of charge on flights operated by Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and VASCO.

The goods are exempt from cargo fees, fuel surcharges, and related charges, and they are given priority on flights to Noi Bai, Cat Bi (Hai Phong), Vinh (Nghe An), Tho Xuan (Thanh Hoa), Van Don (Quang Ninh), and Dien Bien.

Similarly, Bamboo Airways has also offered to transport relief goods free of charge to northern provinces affected by the historic storm and floods.

Specifically, from September 11 to 26, Bamboo Airways will transport relief goods free of charge on flights departing from Ho Chi Minh City, Danang, Cam Ranh, Quy Nhon, and Dalat to Hanoi.

“The relief goods include essential items and necessities. To ensure swift and smooth transportation, the goods should be packed securely in packages not exceeding 40kg each, and each flight will carry a maximum of 500kg of relief goods,” said a representative from Bamboo Airways.
