Nguyen Thu Thao, also known as Thao Griffiths, is a prominent Vietnamese woman who has made significant strides in international relations and humanitarian work. She has played a pivotal role in fostering Vietnam-US relations, especially in post-war reconciliation and healing. Currently, Ms. Thao serves as the Public Policy Director for Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia at Meta’s Asia-Pacific office in Singapore.
In 2022, Thao Griffiths became the first Vietnamese and the only representative from Asia to be appointed to the Board of Commissioners of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP). This is an international organization based in The Hague that specializes in the search for and identification of missing persons due to conflict, disaster, and other causes. Ms. Thao Griffiths is not only the youngest member but also the first independent citizen to hold this role, which is typically reserved for senior government officials.
In December of the same year, US Senator Patrick Leahy honored Ms. Thao Griffiths before the US Congress, recognizing her significant contributions to building bilateral relations. This is a rare honor for a non-government individual.
Beyond her work in international relations, Thao Griffiths serves as a bridge between Vietnam and major global technology corporations, particularly in Singapore and the United States. Her efforts have contributed to the advancement of technology and the economy in Vietnam.

Currently, Ms. Thao has officially become the 27th member of the Judging Council for the Better Choice Awards 2024. The Judging Council for this year’s awards was carefully selected based on the following criteria:
