The Gumball 3000 event in Ho Chi Minh City has captivated the attention of car enthusiasts across Vietnam. It features 100 supercars from around the globe, all gearing up for an exhilarating journey from Vietnam through Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia, culminating in Singapore.
Among the participants is well-known Singaporean businesswoman Amanda Toh Steckler, an avid collector of rare McLarens. We had a brief chat with this fascinating woman, delving into her passion for these extraordinary vehicles.

For Amanda, this is her inaugural journey with Gumball 3000. She enthuses about the vibrant atmosphere in Vietnam, with thousands of fervent fans lining the streets.
When quizzed about her choice of the McLaren 765LT Spider for this expedition, she reveals: “I relish driving the McLaren 765LT Spider; it’s an exhilarating experience.” Amanda will be navigating this supercar solo throughout the rally, accompanied only by her niece. Interestingly, one of Amanda’s friends has also opted for the McLaren 765LT as their vehicle of choice for Gumball 3000 2024.

The McLaren 765LT Spider that Amanda is piloting has been enhanced by McLaren Special Operations (MSO), the brand’s special projects division. It boasts a striking green livery with red accents on the mirror caps and air intakes, creating a distinctive and captivating appearance.
Under the hood, the 765LT Spider is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that generates an impressive 755 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Coupled with a 7-speed automatic transmission, it accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 205 mph.

As the rally concludes in Singapore, Amanda expresses her delight in returning to her home country behind the wheel of this exceptional car. She looks forward to joining her fellow enthusiasts in attending the Singapore Grand Prix on September 22nd.
Renowned within the automotive world, Amanda serves as the president of the McLaren Owners’ Club in Singapore and is an established member of the nation’s Ferrari Owners’ Club. All of her McLarens, including the rare Elva, Senna, Speedtail, and notably the Sabre, have been crafted by MSO.
The McLaren Sabre is an ultra-exclusive model, with only 15 examples worldwide, sold exclusively in the North American market. Its acquisition is highly selective, as the British automaker meticulously vets potential buyers.
