Specifically, the bank advises customers not to perform transactions if they notice any unusual signs, such as:

– The card reader area shows signs of peeling or has unusual devices attached, covered, or connected. This could indicate an attempt to copy customer card information when the card is inserted.

– A camera is installed in any position that can view the customer’s PIN entry during the transaction process.

– The ATM keyboard appears to have been replaced, feels looser or higher than usual, or has small pieces of plastic or tape on it, which could be used to collect fingerprints and passwords.

If customers notice any of these signs at a Shinhan Bank ATM, either before or after performing a transaction, they should refrain from using that particular ATM and move to a different one. Customers should also immediately contact the bank by calling 1900 1577 or visiting the nearest branch/transaction office to report the ATM’s status.

Additionally, to enhance security when using a bank card at an ATM, customers are advised to periodically change their PIN, cover the keyboard when entering their PIN, and prefer to use the cash withdrawal function via the Shinhan SOL Vietnam application when withdrawing money from Shinhan Bank ATMs.
