On September 27th, Columbus Startup Venture Capital Partners, represented by Shark Hung Pham, Chairman of the Investment Board, signed a collaboration agreement with Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, the founder of the Leather Hospital. This partnership aims to boost the leather care industry and create more job opportunities for disadvantaged individuals in Vietnam.

This investment deal is considered a notable success from Shark Tank Vietnam season 7, as the Leather Hospital convinced investors and gained significant attention.

During the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc committed to using the entire investment from Columbus Startup Venture Capital Partners to provide vocational training for people from difficult backgrounds and vulnerable groups in society.

“Leather Hospital will train 150 vulnerable individuals over five years, helping them secure stable jobs, in line with our agreement with Columbus Startup Venture Capital Partners,” shared Mr. Phuc.

The CEO of the Leather Hospital stated that the project solely focuses on training, providing accommodation, and job placement for disadvantaged people. Additionally, the startup also supports its employees with capital and technical skills to become masters of their craft, on the condition that they agree to continue supporting other vulnerable individuals.

Over the past five years, the Leather Hospital has helped nearly 30 people secure stable jobs, earning salaries ranging from 9 to 15 million VND per month.

In Shark Tank season 7, Shark Hung and Shark Phi Van committed to investing without receiving dividends and set conditions to ensure the effectiveness of their investment.

Shark Thai offered to invest 500 million VND for an 8% stake, requesting that his investment be repaid after three years and that the startup sell its products on the platforms of the Thai Huong Corporation.

Shark Minh Beta not only agreed to invest but also withdrew a Golden Ticket worth 500 million VND as an additional gift for the Leather Hospital. The owner of Beta Group also invited Sharks Hung, Phi Van, and Thai to join this investment deal.

Accepting the investment proposal of 500 million VND for an 8% stake from Shark Minh and the three other Sharks, Nguyen Van Phuc shared: “There is nothing more wonderful than having the companionship of three more Sharks.”

In 2023, the Leather Hospital also received the WeChoice Awards in the Inspirational Figure of the Year category.
