The Standing Office of the State Council for Inspection of Construction Works has just issued a document on the results of the inspection of the preparation and review of the dossier of completed works at the Metro Line 1 project, sent to the Management Authority for Urban Railways of Ho Chi Minh City (MAUR – investor).
According to the Standing Office, at the time of inspection, the construction according to the project design had been completed by 99%. The investor is organizing tasks to prepare for the project’s trial run phase, with completion expected by the end of November.
According to the investor’s report, it will be mid-December before the project meets the conditions for the system safety certificate to be granted. On the other hand, competent authorities are inspecting fire protection and environmental safety items.
To put the project’s elevated section into operation to meet the schedule, the Standing Office requested the investor to urgently review and complete the existing issues regarding the completion dossier of Package CP2, as mentioned in the minutes of September 13. Based on the construction situation, the investor establishes a detailed plan for the progress of completing the remaining items as a basis for the acceptance of project completion.
The Council also stated that to put the project’s elevated section into operation by the end of 2024, the investor needs to urgently review and complete the existing issues regarding the completion dossier of Package CP2 (construction of the elevated section and the 17.1 km long depot from Ba Son Station to Long Binh Depot).
Based on the construction situation, the investor establishes a detailed plan for the progress of completing the remaining items as a basis for the acceptance of project completion.
The Council also requested the consulting unit for system safety evaluation to arrange sufficient personnel to accelerate the system safety evaluation work. Route of Metro Line Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien
On September 24, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Bui Xuan Cuong signed a decision approving the adjustment of the official commercial operation time to the end of the fourth quarter of 2024, instead of the fourth quarter of 2024 as before.
The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City requested the Management Authority for Urban Railways of Ho Chi Minh City (MAUR – the investor) to organize the implementation of the project in accordance with regulations, ensuring the construction completion time and commercial operation of the whole line at the end of the fourth quarter.
MAUR is responsible for developing a detailed plan to implement the remaining tasks on schedule, with a commitment to binding the responsibility of the parties and sanctions for handling; identify potential risks.
The Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien metro project has a total investment of over VND 43,700 billion, with a length of nearly 20 km from Ben Thanh, District 1 to Long Binh Depot, Thu Duc City. This is Ho Chi Minh City’s first urban railway project, which started construction in 2012 and has completed about 98% of the volume so far. Previously, after many delays, the project aimed to start commercial operation from July this year.
The Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien Metro Line 1 project has a total length of 19.7 km, including 2.6 km underground and 17.1 km elevated, with a total of 14 stations, including 3 underground stations and 11 elevated stations, and a total investment of VND 43,700 billion after adjustment. The project runs through Districts 1, 2, 9, Binh Thanh, and Thu Duc (Ho Chi Minh City) and Di An (Binh Duong).
