The Vietnam Logistics Services Business Association (VLA) earned the right to host the FWC 2025 after a successful bid in 2017. Despite COVID-19 interruptions, VLA officially secured the hosting rights for FWC 2025 at the FWC 2022 event in South Korea.
Following this achievement, VLA has been working diligently with various government ministries and relevant agencies to prepare for the congress. The organization of FWC 2025 has garnered significant interest and support from the government and local ministries.
Speaking at the ceremony where he received the baton, Mr. Dao Trong Khoa, Chairman of VLA, invited delegates to attend FWC 2025 and experience Vietnam’s dynamic and rapidly growing economy (with an expected GDP growth rate of over 6% in 2024).
According to the VLA Chairman, Vietnam serves as a “gateway” to the Indo-Pacific region. Moreover, given its critical position in global trade flows, Vietnam is poised to become a logistics and commercial hub for the region and the world.
What sets Vietnam apart is the fact that it has signed 19 free trade agreements, deeply integrating itself into the global economy. It is projected that the country’s import-export growth will surpass 15% in the coming year. This expansion in trade is facilitated by Vietnam’s logistics sector, which boasts over 45,000 companies that play a crucial role in connecting Vietnam to the world.
In addition, Vietnam’s commitment to infrastructure development is evident in the success of Cai Mep Port, which was ranked 7th among the most efficient container ports globally in 2023.
Furthermore, a robust logistics ecosystem complements Vietnam’s position as a leading manufacturing hub, attracting global giants such as Samsung, LG, Intel, and Foxconn, who have chosen the country as their primary base of operations. Vietnam is also a leading exporter of agricultural products, including coffee and seafood.
With the theme “Green and Agile Logistics,” FWC 2025 will take place from October 6 to 10, 2025, featuring important discussions about the future of the logistics industry in a world that is increasingly conscious of its environmental responsibilities.
The VLA Chairman highlighted the challenges faced by Vietnam and other nations, including high logistics costs, multimodal transportation issues, and the fragility of global supply chains. These realities have led to trends such as nearshoring and favoring countries with similar policies.
Climate change is another area of focus for businesses, necessitating the establishment of agile supply chains that are not only fast but also economically and environmentally sustainable.
