At 4:00 pm on October 7th, Mr. Vo Tan Ph. (born 1982, residing in Dao Thanh town, My Tho city, Tien Giang) was driving a car with the license plate number 63A 010 38 on National Highway 50 towards Go Cong – My Tho. When his vehicle reached Thanh Kiet village, An Thanh Thuy commune (Cho Gao district), it collided with a motorcycle with the license plate number 63K4 3341 traveling in the opposite direction. The motorcycle was ridden by Huynh Thien Ph. (born 2007, residing in Cho Gao district) who was carrying a passenger named Phan Thi Kim Ng. (born 2007).
After the initial collision, the car then crashed into another parked motorcycle with the license plate number 63B8 642 39. This motorcycle was ridden by Huynh Quoc Phong (born 1987, residing in Go Cong Tay district) who was carrying his two children, Huynh Ngoc Y. (born 2015) and Huynh Ngoc Thien K. (born 2018). Unfortunately, Huynh Ngoc Thien K. succumbed to their injuries while being transported to the hospital. The other two victims, Huynh Thien Ph. and Phan Thi Kim Ng., sustained serious injuries and are currently being treated in the hospital. Initial assessments by authorities suggest that the cause of this tragic accident was due to the car driver’s lack of attention and observation.
It is understood that Mr. Vo Tan Ph. is an official at a bank in Go Cong Tay district (Tien Giang province). After the accident, Mr. Ph. reported the incident to the Cho Gao district police.
