The Ban Gioc-De Tian Landscape Area is a cross-border cooperation zone spanning 400 hectares, with 200 hectares on each side.

Last September, in accordance with the Agreement on Cooperation in the Protection and Tourism Development of Ban Gioc-De Tian Waterfall, authorities in Vietnam and China diligently worked to finalize the necessary arrangements for the pilot operation of the Landscape Area. Throughout the development process, both sides have fundamentally agreed to adhere to the stipulated regulations, while continuing to coordinate in upholding the three legal documents on the land border between Vietnam and China. As a result, the border and territorial situation has remained stable.

As quoted by VNA, Vice Chairman of the Cao Bang provincial People’s Committee Trinh Truong Huy stated at the pilot operation ceremony that the collaboration model for protecting tourism resources at Ban Gioc Waterfall (Vietnam) and De Tian Waterfall (China) is unprecedented. It also marks the first cross-border tourism area between Vietnam and China.

During the pilot operation period from September 15, 2023, to the present, approximately 950 groups, comprising around 12,000 individuals, have entered the area for sightseeing and tourism purposes.

In practice, the exit and entry procedures have been flexibly, scientifically, and civilizedly handled by the exit-entry control, customs, and quarantine forces, in accordance with the relevant regulations. This has facilitated the travel of tourists from both sides to the Landscape Area. Moreover, the transportation of tourists has been harmoniously coordinated by travel companies in Vietnam and China, adhering to the legal provisions of both nations.

Prior to the official launch, specialized agencies under the Cao Bang provincial People’s Committee proposed the rational arrangement of booths to display distinctive products and promote local tourism. Simultaneously, they coordinated with the Trùng Khánh District People’s Committee to direct and inspect the work of ensuring environmental sanitation and landscaping before the homes and along the routes within the Landscape Area… As a result, both sides were well-prepared for the successful official launch ceremony of the Ban Gioc (Vietnam) – De Tian (China) Landscape Area.

The Cao Bang provincial People’s Committee (Vietnam) and the People’s Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) jointly organized the Official Launch Ceremony of the Ban Gioc-De Tian Landscape Area.
