At the meeting of the Government’s Standing Committee with 200 outstanding entrepreneurs, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, CEO of WinCommerce Joint Stock Company – a member of Masan Group, shared that with support from modern transportation infrastructure, especially the soon-to-be-completed and operational highway network, retail businesses can optimize their transportation processes, reduce logistics costs, and enhance competitiveness.
SUSTAINABLE RETAIL ECOSYSTEM
“This efficient supply chain not only ensures a stable food supply but also helps reduce transportation costs on goods, bringing high-quality products at reasonable prices to consumers,” said Ms. Phuong. Not only WinCommerce, but also many other retail businesses are racing to announce their production and business plans for the first quarter of 2024, with a focus on linking and expanding raw material regions and distribution channels to contribute to market stabilization.
Specifically, Saigon Co.op has just announced the planning of raw material regions aimed at building a sustainable retail ecosystem. This is considered one of Saigon Co.op’s important strategies, supporting local governments and connecting manufacturers and suppliers to form a safe food supply system. Additionally, Saigon Co.op signed memorandums of understanding with 17 suppliers from six provinces and cities, marking the completion of Phase 1 of the “Saigon Co.op Raw Material Region Planning” program.

Similarly, in the first eight months of 2024, the total revenue of 56 suppliers from the Southeast region in Satra’s retail system was estimated at VND 90 billion. According to Satra’s representative, these figures demonstrate the effectiveness of their regional linkage development strategy in the field of production, wholesale, and retail with a sustainable development orientation.
Within this framework, Satra has implemented multiple activities to support the distribution of OCOP products and regional specialties. After eight months, revenue from OCOP products exceeded VND 4.6 billion, receiving high praise for their quality and value.
Following the same direction, products distributed by Bach Hoa Xanh (Green Grocery) always undergo strict source control, especially for fresh aquatic and seafood products. After a thorough survey and cooperation, Godaco, with its 350-hectare exclusive farming area and self-sufficient supply of fingerlings and feed, has become one of the main suppliers of tra fish for Bach Hoa Xanh. With nearly 2,000 supermarkets spanning the Southern and Central regions, Bach Hoa Xanh imports hundreds of tons of tra fish each month, with 40% sourced from Godaco, indicating that the quality of this brand has been proven by customers.
On the other hand, local governments shared that after investing in raw material regions, ensuring stable output and connecting cooperatives with businesses are also crucial. Ms. Huynh Thi Thu Trang, Executive Director of An Phat Agricultural Products Company, compared: “The yield of greenhouse-grown netted melons, which are strictly controlled for quality, is only one-third of that of field-grown melons. However, there is not much difference in the market price between the two types of melons. “Honest producers are facing challenges as their products have to compete with inferior ones,” said Ms. Trang.

“Fostering Competition and Safeguarding the Interests of Gas and Oil Enterprises.”
“Businesses have the freedom to pursue their ventures as long as they don’t contravene any laws. However, for industries with conditional operations like the fuel sector, it’s imperative that companies adhere to the stipulated requirements and regulations. These conditions are in place to ensure a safe and sustainable business environment, and non-compliance can have significant repercussions.”
“T&T and the Aspiration to Connect Infrastructure”
Vietnam is a leader in Asia when it comes to infrastructure investment, allocating 5.7% of its GDP annually. While the majority of funding still comes from the state, an increasing number of large private corporations are stepping up to invest in infrastructure, sharing the burden with the state budget.
