Vietnam’s Ministers of Information & Communications, Health, and State Bank Governor to Face Interpellations

The National Assembly Standing Committee has informed the delegates about the interrogation agenda for the 8th session. Accordingly, three selected groups will be questioned in the fields of banking, healthcare, and information and communications.

The group of issues in the healthcare sector includes: Mobilizing and organizing medical personnel, ensuring the supply of medicine and medical equipment to the people, and disease prevention and control after natural disasters; Issuing licenses and practice certificates in the field of examination and treatment; The reality of managing functional food and cosmetic products and solutions to handle violations. Prevention of harm from tobacco and stimulants, especially in the school environment.

Main responsibility: Minister of Health, Dao Hong Lan. Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long; Ministers of Planning and Investment, Finance, Industry and Trade, Education and Training, Public Security, and National Defense will also participate in answering questions and explaining related issues.

The group of issues in the banking sector includes: Monetary policy management to control inflation in the context of a volatile world economic situation; State management of the gold and foreign exchange markets; Support for lending and interest rate exemption for people and businesses to recover production and business activities after natural disasters.

Main responsibility: Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Hong. Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc; Ministers of Planning and Investment, Finance, Industry and Trade, and Agriculture and Rural Development will also participate in answering questions and explaining related issues.

The group of issues in the information and communications sector includes: Solutions to improve the quality of the press’s activities during the current social media boom, especially the role of revolutionary journalism in promoting socio-economic development; Management of advertising activities in the press and online environment; Investment, development, and improvement of telecommunications infrastructure, especially in remote, mountainous, and ethnic minority areas.

Main responsibility: Minister of Information and Communications, Nguyen Manh Hung. Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc; Ministers of Planning and Investment, Finance, Agriculture and Rural Development, Culture, Sports and Tourism, Science and Technology, and Public Security; as well as the Chairman of the Ethnic Affairs Committee, will participate in answering questions and explaining related issues.

At the end of the interrogation session, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh or an authorized Deputy Prime Minister will answer the delegates’ questions about the Government’s direction.
