A representative from the Limited Liability One-Member Company Urban Railway No. 1 (HURC1 Company – the operator of Metro Line No. 1 Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien) shared that from November 11 to November 17, Metro Line 1 will undergo a trial operation at 100% of its designed capacity, simulating commercial operations.
Metro Line 1 trains will run at full capacity until November 18
This development follows the successful trial operation at 20% capacity from October 14 to November 8. The trains will operate from 5 am to 11:30 pm daily, with intervals ranging from 5 minutes and 30 seconds to 10 minutes. The trial run will take place on weekdays, incorporating additional emergency scenarios.
Fourteen trains are expected to be in operation on the main line, with three backup trains. The operating plan after November 18 will be announced later.
There are 47 scenarios, ranging from normal operations to emergency situations such as fire, explosion, power outage, flooding, and signal loss, at different locations along the entire Metro Line 1 (including the underground tunnel). Each shift will involve 71 people in the trial operation, covering all positions, including train drivers, dispatchers at the control center, and station staff…
Prior to the trial, the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Authority had finalized agreements with Hitachi and construction contractors regarding the use of training equipment and trial operations.
Earlier, the management board of the urban railway had launched a 50-day sprint campaign to accelerate the progress of Metro Line 1 and focus on resolving outstanding issues to officially operate the line by the end of 2024.
