The groundbreaking ceremony for the Vietnam-France Steel Sheet Factory Project No.2, invested by Vietnam-France Steel Sheet Joint Stock Company, was recently held in Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park.

The factory is located in Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park, with superior transportation advantages, close to major seaports and national road connections. This shortens transportation time, optimizes logistics costs, and increases the competitiveness of Vietnamese products in the international market.


The factory covers an area of 75,000 square meters, with a total investment of nearly $45 million (VND 1,142 billion) for phase 1

, and a production capacity of up to 350,000 tons of steel products per year, serving the domestic and international markets.

The factory will apply the most modern production technology from international partners

, ensuring high-quality standards, efficiency, and environmental friendliness.

Phase 1 of the Vietnam-France Steel Sheet Factory No.2 Project will be constructed on an area of 20,400 square meters. The construction process is expected to last for 200 days, with support from the Management Board of Hai Phong Economic Zone, helping to overcome difficulties and put the project into operation soon.

Hai Long Construction is the unit in charge of this project. Previously, in 2019, Hai Long Construction successfully undertook the role of the main contractor for the construction of Vietnam-France Steel Sheet Factory No.1.

When completed, the factory will not only provide quality products but also contribute to the local economic development, creating numerous new job opportunities.

Vietnam-France Steel is one of the first manufacturers of coated steel in the Vietnamese market. Established on October 28, 2004, Vietnam-France Steel has owned the most modern system of Stein Heurtey-France’s world-class production lines, with equipment imported synchronously from G7 countries.

In terms of raw materials, Vietnam-France Steel uses the best sources of production materials supplied by reputable global corporations.

Vietnam-France Steel’s coating technology uses the most advanced production line today with an NOF furnace system, wind knife technology, and high-speed coating tanks, with large capacity to optimize different thicknesses of the coating layer as well as the smoothness of the coating surface to create high-quality, aesthetically-pleasing coated steel products.

Vietnam-France Steel owns an advanced color coating line with an intelligent control system combined with specialized high-grade paint to ensure uniform and durable paint coating. With the newly upgraded line system, the factory not only produces high-quality coated steel but also increases the capacity of the factory, better meeting the demands of customers.

Besides selling in the domestic market, the enterprise also expands its international customer portfolio through import and export activities.

In addition to traditional export partners, Vietnam-France Steel has also expanded its exports to potential markets such as the Middle East, South Asia, Europe, Australia, and the Americas.

As of October 2024, the industrial parks and economic zones of Hai Phong have successfully attracted nearly $30.9 billion in FDI. Of this, the machinery, machinery, and equipment sector accounted for 32%, electronics (30%), logistics (15%), chemicals, plastics, and packaging (8%), and textiles, garments, and footwear (4%). South Korea is the leading country in terms of FDI investment in the city, with $10.9 billion (44%), followed by Japan with $3.5 billion (14%), and Singapore with $3 billion (12%)…

In 2024, Hai Phong is expected to reach the target of attracting $4 billion in FDI. This is a significant milestone, marking the strong development of Hai Phong City.
