The year-end is often a time for many businesses to offer promotions and stimulate sales. The motorcycle market is also one of the most vibrant sectors recently, and a new scooter model has just received a new promotion, making the market even more competitive.
Specifically, the TVS Ntorq scooter is now being offered with a discount of nearly 10 million VND (approximately 420,000 USD) off the original price. The distributor’s announcement states that the TVS Ntorq Race Edition version has been reduced from 32.9 million VND (approximately 1,391 USD) to 24.9 million VND (approximately 1,050 USD).
The Ntorq is a scooter model from the TVS brand in India, but it is introduced as a model researched and developed by the TVS Motor Company Indonesia branch. TVS Ntorq and some other TVS motorcycle models are being imported and sold in Vietnam by a specialized importer; the TVS Ntorq is currently imported from Indonesia and was first introduced in the Vietnamese market in late November 2023.
The TVS Ntorq is introduced as the “smartest scooter in its segment.” In reality, this model is equipped with 60 features, Bluetooth connectivity, and can provide various indicators while on the road. The TVS Ntorq distributor introduces this model as having won 20 awards in the three years since its launch and was nominated for the Scooter of the Year award in 2018 and 2019.
The TVS Ntorq has a masculine and robust design, equipped with a 124.6cc engine, competing in the 125cc scooter segment with models such as the Honda Air Blade, Honda Vario, and Yamaha Freego.
The TVS Ntorq is sold in Vietnam in three versions: Race Edition, Extra Performance, and Extra Technology. The Race Edition version is the one currently on promotion, featuring a design inspired by racing with many colorful graphic details.
The TVS Ntorq 125 Race Edition version delivers a maximum power of 9.25 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 10.5 Nm at 5,500 rpm. Depending on the version, the TVS Ntorq is equipped with a TFT or LCD screen that can display various parameters for the driver during operation, including speed warnings.
One interesting feature of the TVS Ntorq 125 Race Edition is the Hazard light button – a rare feature on common urban motorcycles, and the engine kill switch – similar to many large-displacement models. However, the Race Edition version is not equipped with an automatic temporary engine shut-off feature.
To make up for this, the TVS Ntorq 125 Race Edition has two driving modes: Street and Sport. The distributor states that the TVS Ntorq 125 Race Edition has a maximum speed of 95 km/h, but because the engine has three valves, it can accelerate better at high speeds than some competitors in the same segment.
When it comes to braking, the TVS Ntorq 125 Race Edition is equipped with a Synchronized Braking System (SBT) that can maintain the front and rear wheels rotating at the same speed, even when the rider does not apply both brakes simultaneously. Keeping the two wheels rotating at the same speed reduces the risk of tail shaking or handlebar shaking, which can lead to loss of balance and falling.
The TVS Ntorq 125 Race Edition has a trunk capacity of 22 liters, which is not more impressive than its competitors. However, the trunk of this model is equipped with a light and a USB charging port, increasing convenience for users.
The fuel tank of this scooter is located in a rather unusual place, at the rear of the vehicle. Users can refuel without opening the trunk.
Depending on the version, the TVS Ntorq 125 can connect to a smartphone via Bluetooth using a dedicated application, accessing more than 60 different features of the vehicle, from operating parameters, vehicle location, to synchronization with map applications to display directions on the screen.
