There are 8,543 stores using POS/tablet devices, accounting for 52% of the total number of stores, with a 10% increase in retail sales. Meanwhile, 232 stores, or 1% of the total, adopted AI camera or manual solutions, experiencing an 8% decrease in retail sales.

In Ho Chi Minh City alone, according to the leader of the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, all gasoline stations have issued retail invoices for each sale to customers. Among them, about 80% of the stores issue automatic electronic invoices, while the remaining stores use POS machines and computers.

The Ministry of Finance has requested local authorities to closely coordinate with tax authorities at all levels to establish inter-agency inspection teams. These teams will conduct regular or surprise checks on the compliance with regulations on gasoline business, as well as the management and use of electronic invoices for each sale at gasoline business and retail stores in their respective areas.

In case of detection of stores or enterprises deliberately violating the regulations on issuing electronic invoices for each sale, it is proposed to consider revoking their licenses for gasoline business eligibility.
