In 2024, the total number of tourists in Thanh Hoa province is estimated to reach 15.3 million, exceeding the plan by 10.9% and a 22.5% increase compared to the previous year. Among them, international visitors are estimated at 719,000, a 16.7% year-on-year increase.

The province’s total tourism revenue is estimated at VND 33,815 billion, surpassing the plan by 4.4% and a 38% increase from the previous year.

This information was announced at the regular November 2024 meeting of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, discussing the socio-economic situation, national defense, and security in 2024, and the plan for socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in 2025.

It is known that in 2024, tourism in Thanh Hoa province has achieved positive results. According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Thanh Hoa ranked first in the country in terms of tourist arrivals during the 30/4-1/5 holiday, with 1.52 million visitors, a 27.2% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Revenue from tourism reached VND 3,805 billion, a 32.8% increase compared to the same holiday period last year.

The following positions in terms of tourist arrivals during the 30/4-1/5 holiday were: Quang Ninh (over 1 million visitors), Khanh Hoa (nearly 970,000 visitors), Ho Chi Minh City (969,000 visitors), Nghe An (950,000 visitors), and Hanoi (nearly 737,900 visitors).

During the 2/9 holiday, according to the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the province welcomed 395,700 visitors, a 20.4% increase compared to the 2023 holiday – also among the leading localities. Of these, accommodated visitors accounted for 140,500 (35.5% of the total number of visitors).

Leading the province in tourist arrivals was Sam Son City, with 198,200 visitors, followed by Pu Luong Community Eco-Tourism Area (Ba Thuoc) with 59,500 visitors; Hai Tien Eco-Tourism Beach (Hoang Hoa) welcomed 57,600 visitors; Hai Hoa and Bai Dong Eco-Tourism Beach (Nghi Son Town) welcomed 47,300 visitors…

According to the latest figures from the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in October 2024, the total number of visitors to the locality is estimated at 231,800, a 5.4% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Total tourism revenue is estimated at VND 505 billion, up 7.7% from October 2023.

In addition, the Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee meeting also reported that, for the whole of 2024, 23 out of 25 key indicators set by the Provincial People’s Council were completed and exceeded.

According to preliminary statistics from the General Statistics Office, the growth rate of the region’s gross domestic product (GRDP) in 2024 is estimated at 11.72%, exceeding the plan of 11%, ranking third in the country. The scale of GRDP (at current prices) in 2024 is estimated at VND 318,752 billion, ranking 8th out of 63 provinces and cities.

Export and import activities increased strongly compared to the previous year; export value is estimated at USD 6,293 million, 105% of the plan, up 23%; import value is estimated at USD 10,042 million, up over 20%.

State budget revenue is estimated at VND 54,341 billion, 52.8% higher than the estimate, up 25.9% over the same period, the highest ever, leading the North Central region and in the top 10 localities with the highest revenue in the country.

Capital disbursement for public investment is always in the top group nationwide; land clearance exceeds the plan and is 1.2 times higher than the same period; site clearance is completed ahead of schedule, contributing to the completion of the 500kV transmission line project from Quang Trach to Pho Noi on schedule as directed by the Prime Minister.
