Online Friday 2024, a highly anticipated annual event, is set to thrill shoppers once again. Kicking off at midnight on November 29th and running until noon on December 1st, this year’s edition promises an exciting array of activities. The 60-hour online shopping extravaganza will be hosted on various e-commerce platforms and digital platforms in Vietnam, offering consumers a seamless and engaging shopping experience.
One of the key highlights of Online Friday 2024 is the participation of numerous content creators and digital platform operators (Vitamin, VTVcab, ACCESSTRADE, BLIVEE, BYSCOM, PT Group, and TIKMAX). These entities will collaborate closely with brands and businesses to showcase and promote unique products from all over the country. By doing so, they aim to elevate the perception of Vietnamese goods and empower local brands to stand proudly alongside their international counterparts.
The event’s reach extends far beyond Hanoi, with over 30 Provincial Departments of Industry and Trade joining forces to inaugurate the 60-hour Vietnam Online Shopping Day. This united front showcases the involvement of local businesses and sellers from across the nation.
Moreover, a notable aspect of this year’s festivities is the collaboration between major e-commerce platforms like TikTok Shop and Sendo, and local Provincial Departments of Industry and Trade. Through this partnership, the distinctive specialties of Vietnam’s regions will gain widespread exposure, bridging the gap between local culinary cultures and consumers nationwide.
“The collaboration between e-commerce platforms and the Departments of Industry and Trade is instrumental in promoting regional specialties and bringing the unique cultural and culinary delights of each locality closer to consumers across Vietnam,” emphasized Le Hoang Oanh, Director of the Department of E-Commerce and Digital Economy.
Online Friday 2024 has garnered enthusiastic support not only from localities but also from a diverse range of businesses, manufacturers, logistics providers, and digital infrastructure solution providers. Notably, in Ho Chi Minh City, the KIDO Group, a leading Vietnamese food conglomerate, has joined the fray, offering a plethora of attractive promotions that energize the shopping atmosphere and engage consumers actively.
One of the event’s standout features is the BigOFF – Proud of Vietnamese Goods initiative, which includes six live streaming booths. These booths will showcase agricultural and specialty products from different regions, providing a unique window into the country’s diverse produce.
Additionally, a Voucher Festival organized by participating brands and businesses will offer shoppers a delightful array of discounts. Shopee, for instance, is releasing 1000 vouchers exclusively for the event, offering a 100% discount of up to VND 50,000 on eligible orders starting from VND 0 on the Shopee app.
Grab is also joining the celebration, offering free shipping of VND 16,000 for orders over VND 100,000 in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. This promotion applies to GrabFood and GrabMart services for select stores displaying the offer on their platforms.
TikTok Shop, a prominent e-commerce platform, is doing its part to stimulate consumption and promote Vietnamese products by offering a range of vouchers with discounts of up to 20%, with values ranging from VND 20,000 to VND 100,000. These vouchers can be used on all Vietnamese products on the platform. During the Golden Hour from 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM on November 29th, consumers will have the chance to snag vouchers worth VND 200,000, but these are limited in quantity, so speed is of the essence!
To ensure the event’s success, Mr. Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, emphasized the importance of product authenticity and clear origins. He stressed that participating units must provide clear and transparent information about the source and authenticity of their products to build trust among consumers. Additionally, he highlighted the need to enhance and ensure a seamless online shopping experience for all consumers.
Furthermore, Mr. Tan underscored the importance of creating opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to access and expand their markets through e-commerce. He also emphasized the necessity of controlling promotional programs, ensuring their authenticity, and safeguarding consumers’ rights.
Last but not least, he advocated for stronger propaganda and closer coordination with media agencies to raise awareness among consumers about protecting their rights in the digital environment. This proactive approach will empower consumers to make informed choices and safely embrace the conveniences of online shopping.
