The Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee of Bac Ninh, Vuong Quoc Tuan, has agreed in principle for Tien Du district to develop a proposal to become a city under the province’s authority and to upgrade to a Class III urban area. Regarding the projects currently under construction or about to be constructed to meet the upgrade criteria for Tien Du district, Mr. Tuan has instructed to expedite the progress of the investment projects for the construction of the drainage and wastewater treatment system in Tien Du district (Phu Lam basin) and the stadium project. These will be two key projects to celebrate the Party Congress of the district for the term 2025-2030.
For the project of the working office of the District Party Committee – People’s Council – People’s Committee of Tien Du, the province will support the district with 50% of the funding. Tien Du district is requested to urgently complete the necessary procedures to start construction in the first quarter of 2025.
Tien Du district, as the investor, is responsible for site clearance of approximately 3 hectares for the project of expanding the district’s Medical Center. At the same time, the Management Board of Investment Construction Projects of Civil and Industrial Works in Bac Ninh is assigned to implement the construction in 2025.
Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan has requested Tien Du district to complete the construction of the city under the province’s authority by early 2026. For now, the district should focus on fulfilling the criteria for a Class III urban area and submit it to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly for recognition by the end of 2025.
Regarding Yen Phong district, according to the planning of Bac Ninh province, it has been clearly defined that by 2030, Yen Phong district will meet the criteria for a Class III urban area and become a city under the province. Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan proposed that Yen Phong district must consider this as a key political task to mobilize the involvement of the entire political system, striving to achieve the Class III urban criteria by the second quarter of 2025 and be recognized as a city under the province by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly in the third quarter of 2025.
Regarding the infrastructure projects, Mr. Tuan requested Yen Phong district to focus on the necessary conditions and organize the inauguration of the District Medical Center on February 3, along with the unveiling of a plaque to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Yen Phong district is requested to give the highest priority to the construction of the wastewater treatment plant, with the latest deadline being April 30, 2025. The construction of the Cultural and Sports Center of Yen Phong district (phase 2) should commence in the first quarter of 2025, and the investment policy for the Central Square project of Yen Phong district should be promptly completed.
Similarly, Yen Phong district has reviewed and proposed 28 priority projects to address the shortcomings and deficiencies compared to the criteria of a Class III urban area, with a total investment of approximately VND 9,820 billion.
