To boost socio-economic development, Nam Dinh province has been focusing on implementing industrial and service park projects in the area. A notable example is the Hai Long Industrial Park project, a joint venture between the Sembcorp Group (Singapore) and VSIP Vietnam.

Covering an area of approximately 11 km2 (twice the size of Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem district), the Hai Long Industrial Park is located in four communes of Giao Thuy district. The provided map illustrates the planned land usage for reference, with a relatively accurate depiction.

According to the plan, in 2024, the investor will actively coordinate with the provincial authorities of Nam Dinh to complete the necessary procedures. It is expected that by June 2025, the construction of the Hai Long Industrial Park will commence.

Nam Dinh province will provide support and create favorable conditions for the Sembcorp Group (Singapore) and VSIP Vietnam throughout all stages, from investment promotion and implementation to operation and project development.

Upon completion, Hai Long will be a multi-sector industrial park, prioritizing industries with advanced, modern, and environmentally friendly production technologies.

In terms of location, the Hai Long Industrial Park is bounded: to the north by existing residential areas and National Highway 37B; to the south by the East Sea; and to the east and west by agricultural land and residential areas.

Regarding the current state, the area designated for the construction of the Hai Long Industrial Park is predominantly rice cultivation land.

In addition to the Hai Long Industrial Park project, VSIP also aspires to promptly expand its investment and develop an urban-industrial-service ecosystem.

According to the Master Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision towards 2050, approved by the Prime Minister, industry is oriented to become the driving force for Nam Dinh’s economic growth. By 2030, the proportion of industry and construction in the province’s GRDP is expected to exceed 50%.

Thus, the establishment of the Hai Long Industrial Park will significantly contribute to the development of Nam Dinh province, in line with the approved master plan.
