Major General Hoang Anh Tuyen, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security, provided an update on the progress of major cases, including the investigations into the Phuc Son Group and the Thuan An Corporation. He assured that the Ministry’s investigative agencies are working diligently and expeditiously to adhere to legal regulations and bring these cases to a close. No further information has been released at this time.

Regarding the case of Cong Minh Green Tree Company, Mr. Tuyen shared that the case was initiated by the security agency on May 8, 2024, involving two charges: Violation of bidding regulations causing serious consequences and Bribery.

As of now, the investigation has led to the indictment of the case, but the investigating agency has not yet prosecuted any suspects. To resolve this case, the investigators have requested asset appraisals from 16 provincial councils for 413 projects in their respective areas. Thus far, one province has concluded its assessment, while the remaining provinces are still in the process. The investigating agency is actively collaborating by providing additional information, documents, and materials to facilitate the asset appraisal process.

In parallel with the asset appraisal efforts, the investigative agency is diligently working to clarify and individualize the responsibilities of involved individuals for appropriate legal handling.

Previously, at a press conference in October, the representative of the Ministry of Public Security’s Security Investigation Agency announced that on May 8, 2024, the agency had initiated a case involving “violation of bidding regulations causing serious consequences and bribery” at Cong Minh Green Tree Company and various provinces and cities.

The investigation revealed that Cong Minh Green Tree Company colluded with investors to manipulate bidding prices from the project planning stage. Once the contract prices were approved, the company would either be directly appointed as the winner or use other legal entities within its ecosystem to participate in the bidding process and secure the contract.
