On October 2, 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh officially launched the Electronic Health Record on the VNeID application, setting a clear goal: ‘After 2025, every Vietnamese citizen, even those without health insurance, will possess an electronic health record on the VNeID application, eventually having electronic medical records.’
As a component of the Electronic Health Record, in the near future, people will be able to purchase medicine from Long Chau Pharmacy through VNeID. This is an essential utility for people to proactively monitor their medical history, prescriptions, and centralized medicine purchases on VNeID.
In the future, when the Electronic Health Record on the VNeID application is widely deployed and used, people will enjoy numerous practical benefits. These include reduced paperwork when visiting healthcare facilities or purchasing medicine, proactive continuous monitoring of their health, access to information for proactive disease prevention, cost reduction, and reduced burden on the healthcare system. Additionally, it will provide timely and accurate data to doctors, improving diagnosis and treatment effectiveness.
To implement online medicine purchases on VNeID, FPT Long Chau has closely coordinated with the RAR Center, which is under the National Population Data Center, the Police Administration Management Department for Social Order (C06) – Ministry of Public Security. They have integrated systems, upgraded infrastructure technology, and applied modern solutions to activate the online medicine purchase convenience for people across all 63 provinces and cities.
The medicine purchase process through VNeID is optimized with quick login steps, allowing transactions to be completed in just a few simple steps. This solution not only saves time but also ensures transparency, safety, and information security thanks to a modern technology system that meets contemporary standards, providing convenience and peace of mind for customers.
Long Chau currently has a network of more than 2,000 pharmacies and vaccination centers across all 63 provinces and cities. The ability to purchase medicine online through VNeID meets one of the most essential needs of the people, helping to make medicine purchases in the electronic environment safe and transparent in terms of price and origin. Furthermore, people can easily monitor and trace the entire purchase process, including product details, price, pharmacist consultation, delivery person, and more, ensuring the quality of medicine at every stage until it reaches the customer. Thus, VNeID has contributed to making healthcare safer for the people.
When purchasing medicine online through VNeID, management agencies can identify the buyer and seller through identification codes and authentication features. The system also records detailed order information, including medicine type, ingredients, price, quantity, and transaction history. In the event of an unforeseen incident, the journey of the goods can be accurately traced.
According to Announcement No. 487/TB-VPCP on the conclusions of the teleconference on deploying the expansion of the pilot Electronic Health Record and issuing Judicial Profile Certificates through VNeID nationwide, the results of the Electronic Health Record deployment have established 32.1 million health records for the people, of which 14.6 million citizens have integrated their Electronic Health Record with VNeID.
The set goals for the year 2025 are to have 100% of healthcare facilities (including both public and private) utilizing Electronic Health Records and 40 million people using them. After 2025, every Vietnamese citizen, even those without health insurance, will possess an Electronic Health Record on the VNeID application, and 30% of the population will have electronic medical records when seeking medical treatment. By 2025, 100% of people with a need will be able to register for Judicial Profile Certificates through VNeID.
