This extraordinary chicken egg tree is currently on display along the 379 Provincial Road (Van Giang, Hung Yen). The area is known as the northern region’s Tet tree capital, boasting a range of supersized, stunning, and pricey specimens.

The owner of this unique chicken egg tree, Mr. Nguyen Tung, claims that it is one-of-a-kind and that it would be extremely difficult to find another tree of similar stature.

“Ever since I first laid eyes on this chicken egg tree about seven years ago, I was immediately drawn to its twisted branches and majestic stance, so I did everything in my power to make it mine,” Mr. Tung shared.

Based on his experience, Mr. Tung estimates the chicken egg tree to be over 60 years old. In addition to its gnarled trunk, the tree’s sole large branch (also known as a “hand”) is nearly as thick as the trunk itself.

The branch stretches out horizontally, curving like a dragon flying in the sky. Due to the length of the branch and the abundance of fruits, Mr. Tung had to fabricate a large steel frame to securely support the branch and attach it to the pot.

Throughout the year, the chicken egg tree is always adorned with flowers, fruits, and young leaves, symbolizing prosperity and abundance. “Because of this unique feature, the chicken egg tree is also known as the ‘four-season egg tree,'”

The simultaneous presence of flowers, fruits, and young leaves during all seasons makes the chicken egg tree truly special.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time the chicken egg tree has been presented to the public. Mr. Tung has previously exhibited the tree at several shows, and while offers with sky-high prices have been made by tree enthusiasts, he has refused to sell. “Someone offered me 800 million VND, but I didn’t sell it,” Mr. Tung stated.

“I have a particular fondness for natural trees that haven’t been altered by human hands. The chicken egg tree is one such example. Its trunk and branches are shaped by nature, not by man. Only the smaller branches have been pruned by me to achieve the desired foliage. This aspect makes the tree even more precious to me,” Mr. Tung explained.
