Nam Dinh FC has just announced rewards for three players who were part of Vietnam’s AFF Cup 2024 winning squad. Mr. Nguyen Van Thien, the club’s chairman, awarded Van Toan and Van Vi VND 500 million each, while striker Nguyen Xuan Son received a luxury apartment in Hanoi.
The Nam Dinh trio played crucial roles in Vietnam’s AFF Cup triumph. Xuan Son impressed with seven goals in just five appearances, clinching both the Golden Boot and the tournament’s Most Valuable Player award.

Despite an early tournament injury, forward Van Toan managed to find the back of the net once. Defender Van Vi featured in all eight matches, displaying tenacity and contributing with a goal.
Xuan Son is currently recovering from a fractured bone and is expected to return to action by the end of 2025. Van Toan is also in the rehabilitation process and may feature in the upcoming V.League fixtures. Meanwhile, Van Vi has maintained a consistent playing rhythm since returning from the AFF Cup.
Nam Dinh FC currently sits second in the V.League table, just one point behind leaders Thanh Hoa. The club has been knocked out of the National Cup but will soon face Sanfrecce Hiroshima of Japan in the AFC Cup Round of 16 over two legs.
