**Gambling Ring Bust in Quang Binh, Vietnam: Over $4 Million in Transactions**

The police of Bo Trach district in Quang Binh province have decided to prosecute a case and 11 residents of Dong Trach, Duc Trach, and Hai Phu communes for gambling-related offenses. The authorities are continuing to investigate and expand the case.

Previously, on January 17, the Cyber Security Division of the Quang Binh Provincial Police coordinated with the Bo Trach District Police, the Cyber Security Bureau (Ministry of Public Security), and professional units to summon and question multiple individuals involved in gambling and organizing gambling in the form of soccer betting.

The investigation determined that, from September to December 2024, Nguyen Thanh Hai (born 1979, living in Hai Phu commune, Bo Trach district) had contacted a Hanoi-based individual to purchase a level 2 agency account (Master) on a soccer betting system.

Hai then created a level 3 agency account (Agent) and member accounts (Member) to provide to many individuals in Bo Trach district for soccer betting participation.

Transactions on the betting page were made in units of “Do” (points). According to collected documents, from October to November 30, 2024, there were dozens of Member accounts participating in betting, totaling more than 1.5 million points, equivalent to nearly VND 100 billion.

Nguyen Thanh Hai handed over the Master account to Le Van Huy (born 1991, living in Hai Phu commune, Bo Trach district) to manage, create Member accounts, assign points, and report back to Hai. The gamblers agreed to settle wins and losses in cash or via bank transfers.

Based on the evidence gathered, the Task Force arrested nine additional individuals, including: Ho Minh Hau (born 1991), Phan Thanh Hien (born 1985), Ho Thang Loi (born 1983) – residing in Hai Phu commune; Ho Dang Kiem (born 1984), Ho Hai Bang (born 1981) – residing in Duc Trach commune; Duong Thanh Thuong (born 1987), Phan Van Lam (born 1975), Duong Van Lan (born 1974), Pham Duc Toan (born 1983) – residing in Dong Trach commune, Bo Trach district.

The investigating agency seized 12 mobile phones, 1 computer, VND 14.5 million, and many related documents to serve the investigation.
