On February 4, the Economic Police Department of the Dak Lak Provincial Police announced the prosecution and detention of four individuals for producing and trading counterfeit fertilizers.
Nguyen Thi Cam My and her husband were prosecuted for producing and trading counterfeit fertilizers.

The accused are: Nguyen Thi Cam My (41 years old), CEO of Nam Duong Fertilizer Trading Joint Stock Company (Binh Dinh Province); Bui Minh Chanh (43 years old, My’s husband), CEO of Hoa Ky-VINA International Fertilizer Group Joint Stock Company (Long An Province); Vo Thi Hong Nhung and Nguyen Duong Thinh (33 and 36 years old, respectively), both accountants at the companies.
According to the initial investigation, due to the high price and scarcity of Kali raw materials, which need to be imported, My and her husband decided to reduce production costs and increase profits by formulating specific production recipes for each type of NPK fertilizer.
Some of these NPK fertilizers had low or no Kali content. The couple then instructed their accountants, Nhung and Thinh, to organize the production and sale of these fertilizers in the market.

The Economic Police of Dak Lak Provincial Police raided the headquarters and warehouses of the two companies, seizing 10,264 bags of NPK fertilizers weighing over 513 tons, more than 4,000 tons of production materials, and related documents.
As the investigation expanded, the task force worked with 32 fertilizer dealers in Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, and Kon Tum provinces, seizing an additional 848.3 tons of fertilizers produced by the two companies.
The seized fertilizers were confirmed to be counterfeit through laboratory testing.
The Economic Police of Dak Lak Provincial Police are continuing their investigation to bring all involved individuals to justice.
Nguyen Thi Cam My, known for her beauty, talent, and wealth, had previously won the gold prize at the “Radiant Beauty of Binh Dinh Women: Charm, Confidence, and Talent” contest in October 2022.
