Domestic gasoline and oil price fluctuations in 2025 (from December 26, 2024, to February 6, 2025)

Regarding the reasons for the price adjustment, the Ministries stated that the world gasoline and oil market during this price adjustment period (from February 1, 2025, to February 5, 2025) was influenced by factors such as: increased US crude oil inventories, the US temporarily suspending new tariffs on goods from Mexico, concerns about a new trade war between the US and China, and the ongoing military conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The above factors caused the world gasoline and oil prices to fluctuate in the past few days, with an overall downward trend.

Specifically, the average price of world gasoline and oil products between the price adjustment period on February 1, 2025, and February 6, 2025, was as follows: 84,590 USD/ton for RON92 gasoline used to blend E5RON92 gasoline (increased by 0.056 USD/ton, equivalent to a 0.07% increase); 86,227 USD/ton for RON95 gasoline (decreased by 0.611 USD/ton, equivalent to a 0.70% decrease); 92,713 USD/ton for kerosene (decreased by 0.495 USD/ton, equivalent to a 0.53% decrease); 91,837 USD/ton for 0.05S diesel oil (decreased by 1.453 USD/ton, equivalent to a 1.56% decrease); and 482,537 USD/ton for 180CST 3.5S fuel oil (decreased by 7,161 USD/ton, equivalent to a 1.46% decrease)

Fluctuations in world gasoline and oil product prices from February 1, 2025, to February 5, 2025

In this price adjustment, given the fluctuations in world gasoline and oil prices, exchange rate movements, and current regulations, the Ministries of Industry and Trade and Finance decided on a price adjustment plan to ensure that domestic gasoline and oil prices are suitable for the world gasoline and oil price movements. The Ministries also aim to maintain a reasonable price difference between E5RON92 biofuel and RON95 mineral gasoline to encourage the use of biofuels in line with the government’s policy and to balance the interests of all market participants.
