A corner of Ninh Hoa town (Khanh Hoa) – the proposed project site for the Becamex – VSIP joint venture.
On the afternoon of February 17, the leaders of Khanh Hoa province held a meeting to discuss the investment proposal from the Becamex – VSIP joint venture.
The joint venture comprises two companies: Becamex IDC, a leading industrial development corporation, and VSIP, a Vietnam-Singapore industrial park developer, both based in Binh Duong province.
The joint venture proposes to develop a dynamic economic corridor in the central region of Khanh Hoa province, spanning an area of 3,000 hectares across Dien Khanh and Ninh Hoa districts. The project will comprise three main zones: industrial, urban, and service.
The investors seek the support and facilitation of provincial leaders in navigating the necessary procedures for the project proposal.
Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nghiem Xuan Thanh requested that the investors provide more specific details on the economic efficiency of the project, including its contribution to state revenues, growth, job creation, and enhancement of local incomes. He also emphasized the need for coordination with relevant departments to review planning, land use allocation, and other procedures.
Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan acknowledged the initial investment ideas formulated by the joint venture after five months of research. He highlighted the completion of provincial planning and the ongoing refinement of subdivision planning as favorable conditions for investors to propose projects. The leader affirmed that Khanh Hoa province would extend its support to the joint venture in realizing their investment proposal.
Prior to this, at the end of 2023, the joint venture between Becamex IDC, VSIP, and Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) proposed to survey and develop two projects in Khanh Hoa province. These included the Ninh Xuan Industrial-Urban-Service Park (approximately 2,340 hectares) in Ninh Xuan commune, Ninh Hoa district, and the Dien Khanh Urban-Service Park (approximately 500 hectares) in Dien Thanh and Dien Binh communes, Dien Khanh district.
The Becamex – VSIP joint venture brings together leading industrial park developers in Vietnam. VSIP, established in 1996, is a joint venture between Singapore’s Sembcorp Industries and Becamex IDC, with the latter holding a 49% stake. Today, VSIP operates in 10 provinces and cities across Vietnam, spanning approximately 11,000 hectares. Among its joint ventures, VSIP contributes the highest profits to Becamex IDC.
Becamex, on the other hand, has directly and collaboratively developed over 21 industrial parks covering tens of thousands of hectares in 10 provinces and cities nationwide.
