Following the arrest of Long Thanh District People’s Committee Chairman Le Van Tiep, the Dong Nai Provincial Police Investigation Agency has prosecuted and detained Mr. Duong Ngoc Duc, Acting Chairman of Binh Son Commune; Vice Chairman of Binh Son Commune People’s Committee Hoang Huu Minh; and Chairman of the Binh Son Commune Fatherland Front Committee Lam Hoang Thanh Hai.

The above-mentioned individuals have been found to have committed violations related to the case of compensation, support, and resettlement in the State’s land retrieval for the Long Thanh Airport project.
The decisions have been approved by the People’s Procuracy of Dong Nai Province. The functional forces have carried out the temporary detention order and searched the residences and workplaces of the accused.
At the same time, the Dong Nai Provincial Police Investigation Agency also summoned five officials, including leaders and staff of the Long Thanh District Land Development Center and a specialist from the Long Thanh District Justice Division, to serve the investigation.
In addition, four officials from Suoi Trau 1 and Xa Hoang hamlets in Binh Son Commune were also summoned for working sessions.
All of the above-mentioned individuals had been involved in compensation work for the land retrieval project, as well as compensation, support, and resettlement for the Long Thanh Airport.
Previously, the Dong Nai Provincial Police Investigation Agency detained Mr. Le Van Tiep, Chairman of Long Thanh District People’s Committee, for investigating the crime of “Violation of regulations on compensation, support, and resettlement when the State retrieves land.”
The initial investigation results determined that there were many violations by the Compensation Council in the compensation, support, and resettlement in Long Thanh District, causing significant damage to the State budget.
The project for land retrieval, compensation, support, and resettlement for the Long Thanh Airport was approved by the National Assembly in 2017, with a total investment of nearly VND 23,000 billion. The People’s Committee of Dong Nai Province was assigned as the project investor. During the implementation process, due to the reduction of some items, the National Assembly approved the adjustment of the project with a total investment reduced to over VND 19,200 billion.
