The National Convention and Exhibition Center, a project worth over 7,000 billion VND, is taking shape.

Construction began on August 30, 2024, and the National Convention and Exhibition Center is considered a key project for Hanoi, the capital city.

The project spans 90 hectares, ranking among the top 10 largest exhibition centers globally and serving as an international-standard project. It plays a pivotal role in boosting the socioeconomic development of Hanoi and the Northern Red River Delta region.

The indoor exhibition area stands out with its design inspired by the Kim Quy Turtle, a deity associated with the legend of building the ancient citadel of Co Loa. Currently, the construction unit is actively working on various components, including foundations, auxiliary buildings, fences, landscaping, and more. The project is expected to be completed by July 2025, commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025).

The center encompasses an indoor exhibition space modeled after the Kim Quy Turtle, spanning over 130,000 square meters and divided into nine sections. It also features four outdoor exhibition parks totaling 20.6 hectares, two smaller indoor exhibition halls, and a range of auxiliary facilities.

Strategically located at the northeastern gateway to Hanoi, the center is at the heart of a vital transportation network connecting the city to other provinces via road, air, and the planned metro system.

At present, the construction unit is making steady progress across all aspects of the project.

In addition to focusing on assembling the steel structure for the main building, the construction team is also working on road foundations, auxiliary structures, fences, landscaping, pavement, and auxiliary facilities in the surrounding areas.

Upon completion and commencement of operations, the National Convention and Exhibition Center will become a new symbol of development for the capital city, contributing to Hanoi’s emergence as a global “exhibition capital.”
