ACV Invites Bids for the Construction of Long Thanh International Airport in an Open Online Tender for the First Time.

On March 10, 2025, the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) organized an open online tender for the first time, following a one-envelope bid selection process for Package 7.8, which involves the construction and equipment installation for Cargo Terminal 1 and the remaining auxiliary works.

This package is part of Component 3 – Essential Works within the Airport of the Investment Project for the Construction of Long Thanh International Airport, Phase 1.

With a budget of over VND 4,120 billion, the tender attracted three bidders. According to ACV, the level of competition was intense, with a price difference of up to VND 200 billion between the lowest and highest bids, equivalent to 5% of the total value of the package. This not only reflects the project’s appeal but also contributes significantly to state budget savings, ensuring the selection of a contractor with an optimal cost and quality solution.

By adopting online bidding for the first time, ACV has not only laid the foundation for a modern and transparent bidding model but has also motivated enterprises in the construction and aviation infrastructure sectors to adapt to the digitalization trend. This move aligns with the policy of applying technology in public investment management, enhancing the efficiency of supervision and operation of key projects.

The online bidding process fully complies with the new Bidding Law, promoting openness, fairness, and equal opportunities for all enterprises. All information about the package is publicly available on the Government’s Public Procurement Portal, facilitating the participation of bidders and enhancing supervision by management agencies and the community.

Located in Long Thanh District, Dong Nai Province, Long Thanh International Airport covers an area of nearly 5,000 hectares and has a total investment of up to USD 16 billion (over VND 336,630 billion). With a design capacity to serve 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo annually, the Long Thanh International Airport will become the largest airport in Vietnam once completed.
