The People’s Committee of Dong Nai province on March 27 sent a proposal to the Government and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment regarding the implementation of the land use plan for the 2021-2030 period. The proposal includes reducing 27,200 hectares of agricultural land and converting it for socio-economic development projects.

A plot of agricultural land in Long Thanh district was revoked for the construction of a resettlement area for the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway project.

Specifically, Dong Nai province proposed a reduction in various types of agricultural land, including land for perennial crops, rice fields, and production forests. The types of land proposed for an increase include industrial land, transportation land, residential land, and other technical infrastructure land.

According to the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province, when the land use targets for the 2021-2030 period were established, the sectors and localities did not accurately forecast land needs. In a short period, the province has witnessed the planning and implementation of numerous national-level projects, such as airports, expressways, belt roads, transit warehouses, and provincial priority projects, leading to changes in land use targets.

Regarding land use planning in Bien Hoa city, approximately 1,035 hectares of land are expected to be revoked by 2025 for project implementation. Of this, over 556 hectares are agricultural land, and nearly 479 hectares are non-agricultural land.

The People’s Committee of Dong Nai province has instructed Bien Hoa city to publicly announce the land revocation plan and ensure that land revocation is carried out in accordance with legal regulations.
