The memorial service for Mr. Ogawa in Japan took place on April 7 at the 9 offices of FPT Japan. The FPT delegation, led by Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, FPT Corporation’s Vice President and CEO of FPT Software, conducted the main ceremony at the Mita Office at 3:00 PM (Japan time).
The memorial service for Mr. Ogawa in Vietnam was held on April 8 at two locations: FPT Corporation’s headquarters (10 Pham Van Bach, Hanoi) and F-Ville 2 Software Park (Hoa Lac, Hanoi). The FPT delegation, led by Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Corporation, along with the leadership of the Corporation and its member companies, conducted the ceremony at FPT Tower at 8:30 AM (Vietnam time).

Mr. Ogawa Takeo played a pivotal role in one of FPT’s most significant turning points in its global expansion journey by steering the FPT ship in Japan. He served as a special “ambassador” for FPT, fostering, connecting, and accompanying the corporation in forging numerous deep and solid relationships.
Mr. Ogawa was also a respected “elderly friend” and “teacher” to many generations of FPT employees.

Mr. Ogawa’s connection with FPT began in 2003 when he was the CEO of Hitachi Software. The first basic contract between the two companies was signed during this period.
The Software Development Center (OSDC) established between Hitachi Software and FPT in 2005 became a stable and continuously developing business area for the Corporation, even until today. This OSDC also served as a marketing tool and a stepping stone for FPT to penetrate the notoriously demanding Japanese market.
In 2006, Mr. Ogawa retired from Hitachi Software and began his association with FPT, first as a senior advisor to FPT University and then as a member of the Board of Directors for FPT Software.
On January 1, 2010, at the invitation of Chairman Truong Gia Binh, Mr. Ogawa Takeo was officially appointed as the Director of FPT Japan.
As CEO, Mr. Ogawa helped FPT Japan better understand Japanese laws, market, and customers. This enabled FPT to define its strategy in Japan and better meet customer requirements, earning their trust and securing significant projects. FPT was able to penetrate the “core businesses” of its clients and became their strategic and long-term partner.
Simultaneously, Mr. Ogawa contributed to the development of FPT in Japan by modeling the company after a Japanese enterprise, fostering a highly professional and disciplined work environment.
Starting from January 1, 2012, Mr. Ogawa Takeo stepped down as CEO of FPT Japan to assume the role of Advisor to the Chairman of FPT Corporation. Since then, he has acted as a special ambassador for FPT, opening many new doors for the Corporation.
Recalling the FPT Chairman Advisor and former FPT Japan CEO, Mr. Ogawa Takeo, FPT CEO Nguyen Van Khoa wrote in an email to all FPT employees: “He was a teacher and a great friend who devoted his heart and soul and remained dedicated, committed, and courageous in his contributions to FPT until his last days.”
